Therese Auf der Maur wurde in Basel geboren, und erhielt im Alter von sechs Jahren ihren ersten Violinunterricht bei Aglaia Kellerhals.
Später folgten Studien bei Elemer Glanz in Zürich, Karen Turpie in Bern und Schaffhausen, sowie Jack Glickman an der Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London.
Sie spielte während drei Jahren im Gustav-Mahler-Jugendorchesters unter der Leitung von Claudio Abbado, und trat bei zahlreichen Konzerten und Festivals auf, u.a. in Paris, London, München, Salzburg, Wien, Berlin.
Ebenso erhielt sie ein zweijähriges Stipendium für die Gustav-Mahler-Orchesterakademie.
Sie war in zahlreichen Kammerorchestern tätig, so beim Orchestre de Chambre de Neuchatel, dem Zuger Kammerensemble, den Festival Strings Lucerne, und spielte als regelmässige Zuzügerin beim Opernhaus Zürich sowie dem Tonhalle-Orchester Zürich.
Weitere Auftritte als Solistin und Konzertmeisterin folgten; u.a. mit dem Sinfonieorchester Horgen-Thalwil unter der Leitung von Kevin Griffiths, sowie dem Orchester Zürich Wiedikon unter der Leitung von Christopher Whiting.
Der Schwerpunkt ihrer jetzigen künstlerischen Tätigkeit ist vor allem dem Kammermusikrepertoire in verschiedenen Besetzungen gewidmet.
Therese Auf der Maur spielt auf einer Violine von Bartolomeo Bimbi aus dem Jahr 1770.
Sie unterrichtet seit vielen Jahren an der Musikschule Thalwil-Oberrieden und verfügt über grosse pädagogische Erfahrung von der Arbeit mit Anfängern bis hin zu Vorbereitungen auf das Hauptstudium an Musikhochschulen.
Born in Bern as the son of a family of musicians, Abram Cortinas received his first piano lessons from Melchior Ulrich in Schwyz and Christoph Demarmels in Zurich.
During this time he won prizes at several national competitions in Switzerland.
He pursued his studies with Reinhard Becker at the MusikhochschuleTrossingen, where he received his diploma in artistic education as well as a music teacher.
His concert life as a soloist has taken him to many national and international stages, including Mexico, Belgium, Italy, Germany, Romania and Switzerland.
He has performed with numerous orchestras such as the OrquestaSinfónicadel Estado de Xalapa, the Symphonic Orchestra VillingenSchwenningen, the Horber Chamber Orchestra, OKN Orchestra, the CamerataCortinas and others and has given recitals at the Euro-Asia Piano Festival, the Bechstein Centrum Tübingen and the Teatro del Angel, Guadalajara.
He appeared on the German culture channel SWR2 with works by Scarlatti and Liszt.
He received important musical inspiration from renowned artists such as Michiko Tsuda, Daniel Schweizer, Kemal Gekic, Adrian Oetiker, Mikhail Voskresensky, Thomas Hecht, Alan Fraser and János Starker, among others at the MusiktageBrache, the SommermusikakademieLenk and the SkriabinAkademie Paris.
In addition to his pianistic activities, the promotion of young musicians is one of his major concerns. Cortinas has already organized more than 45 concerts for young artists of the MHS Trossingen, Mannheim, Freiburg and Stuttgart and has been artistic director of the international summer course Ponticorda since 2013.
Abram Cortinas is a member of the jury of the International MuzicaUneste Europa Violin & Piano Competition in Bucharest, Romania.
His experience as a piano teacher already reaches far, since he already began to give piano lessons intensively during his studies.
He has taught at the Villingen Music Academy, the Horb Music School, the Solothurn Cantonal School, the Zurich Conservatory, master classes in Mexico, Germany and Switzerland and currently at the Horgen Music School.
